Why I Still Love Bridal Almost 30 Years

“Sometimes I Wonder Where The Years Have Gone”

Nearly 30 years working in the bridal industry, and I can genuinely say I still love what I do.

When I first started in bridal, I never imagined the wonderful people I would meet, the stories I would hear or the special moments I would be lucky enough to share.

In December 2018, I opened the doors of White Gold Bridal in the beautiful village of Broughshane. I wanted to create somewhere brides could come and feel completely at ease. Somewhere they could take their time, enjoy the experience and, most importantly, feel comfortable being themselves.

Over the years, I’ve learned that every bride is different. Some arrive knowing exactly what they’re looking for, while others haven’t a clue where to begin. And do you know what? That’s absolutely fine.

I always say that finding your wedding dress isn’t just about how it looks. It’s about how it makes you feel.

There is something very special about watching a bride look in the mirror and seeing that little change in her expression. Sometimes there’s laughter, sometimes happy tears, and sometimes just a quiet smile. Those are the moments I never tire of.

Of course, after almost 30 years, the bridal industry has changed enormously. Styles come and go, trends change, but one thing hasn’t changed for me, and that’s the importance of listening to the bride standing in front of me.

I never want a bride to feel rushed or pressured into making a decision. It’s her dress, her wedding and her moment.

Running White Gold Bridal on my own means I get to know my brides personally, and that’s something I really treasure.

So, after all these years, do I still get excited when a bride finds her dress?

Absolutely. Every single time.

And I hope I never lose that feeling.

Thank you to all the wonderful brides and families who have allowed me to be a little part of their journey. It really does mean more than you know.

With love,
